Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Sentinel Pro (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used when you use the Sentinel Pro desktop application and browser extension.

⚠️ Important — AI scanning and network activity: Sentinel Pro’s heuristic detection runs entirely on your device with zero network calls. When AI-powered scanning is enabled and you have an API key configured, URLs and page content are sent to your chosen AI provider (Anthropic or OpenRouter) for analysis. If you prefer fully local operation, use heuristic-only mode by leaving the API key field empty in Settings.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information required to provide the service:

  • License key — used to verify your purchase and activate the software. Verified against our licensing server.
  • Machine identifier — a randomly generated ID used to track how many devices a license is active on. This is not linked to your name or personal identity.
  • Scan history — URLs, file names, and email snippets you submit for analysis. These are processed to generate a threat verdict and are not stored on our servers permanently.
  • Trial fingerprint — a non-personal identifier is sent to our server to track trial usage and prevent duplicate trials. Not linked to your identity.
  • Community threat reporting — when the AI confirms a URL is dangerous, the domain may be added to our community block list distributed to all Sentinel Pro users.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or payment information.
  • We do not track your browsing history.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising.
  • We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • License verification — to confirm your purchase and enforce seat limits.
  • AI threat analysis — URLs and content you submit are sent to an AI provider (Anthropic or OpenRouter, per your settings) for analysis. Review their privacy policies at anthropic.com and openrouter.ai.

4. Data Storage and Security

All scan processing happens locally on your device. We use HTTPS for all server communication. We do not store your scan content permanently — it is processed and discarded.

5. Third-Party AI Services

When you use AI-powered scanning features, the content you submit is sent to the AI provider configured in your settings (Anthropic Claude or an OpenRouter model). This transmission is governed by those providers’ privacy policies. We do not send your data to any other third parties.

6. Your Rights (GDPR — European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — you may request a copy of the data we hold that is associated with your license.
  • Right to erasure — you may request that we delete your trial and license records.
  • Right to portability — you may request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — you may object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests.
  • Lawful basis — we process data to perform our contract with you (delivering and licensing the software) and on the basis of our legitimate interests in preventing trial abuse and protecting the user community.

To exercise any of these rights, email coreywr10@gmail.com with the subject line “GDPR Request”.

7. Your Rights (CCPA — California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not sell your personal information — and never have. You may contact us at any time to exercise your rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what information we hold and the right to request its deletion.

8. Data Retention

  • Trial records — kept for 12 months, then deleted.
  • License records — kept for the duration of the license.
  • Scan content — never stored on our servers.

9. Children's Privacy

Sentinel Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Contact

If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how your data is handled, email us at coreywr10@gmail.com or contact us through the Gumroad product page where you purchased Sentinel Pro.

Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

By purchasing or using Sentinel Pro, you agree to these terms.

1. What Sentinel Pro Is

Sentinel Pro is a cybersecurity tool that includes a Windows desktop application and browser extension. It uses AI to analyze links, files, emails, and web pages for phishing, malware, and other threats.

2. Free Trial

Sentinel Pro offers a 7-day free trial tracked server-side using a non-personal machine identifier. Only one trial is permitted per device.

3. No Warranty & No Liability for Security Incidents

Sentinel Pro is a best-effort security tool — not a guarantee of complete protection. No security software can catch 100% of threats. Sentinel Pro is provided “as is” without warranty. In particular:

  • Some threats may not be detected.
  • False positives may occur.
  • AI-powered detection depends on your configured provider and its availability and accuracy.
  • Sentinel Pro does not replace other security practices such as strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, and keeping your software up to date.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Corey Ware is not liable for any damages, losses, or data breaches that occur while using — or despite using — Sentinel Pro. You use it at your own risk.

4. License & Permitted Use

Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license for the number of devices covered by your plan. You may not resell, redistribute, reverse-engineer, or modify the software. Business license seats are transferable between employees of the purchasing organization, but may not be transferred to outside organizations.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use Sentinel Pro to:

  • Monitor others without their consent.
  • Conduct unauthorized security testing.
  • Tamper with, circumvent, or defeat the license system.
  • Engage in any illegal activity.

6. Monthly Subscription

The monthly plan ($9.99/month) is billed automatically through Gumroad. Cancel any time — you keep access through the end of the current billing period.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States.
